This week, it’s time to hit the trail again. The Paavola Wetlands Nature Area boasts miles of easy trails for hikers with young children or needing handicapped accessibility. The area is home to turtles, frogs, a variety of waterfowl and songbirds, and beavers, who live in the 15-acre beaver pond. Diverse plant life also makes this an excellent destination for an educational nature excursion or to practice plant identification. Visit now and return in the winter with snowshoes to compare!

A wooden boardwalk extends into a grassy wetland.

The Paavola Wetlands Nature Area is located near Hancock off of Highway 41. For more details, please visit their website!
